The related (dependent) samples t-test is used when there is one dependent and one independent variable and the independent variable consists of two levels that are related to each other. In addition, the measurements of the dependent variable should be in the range or ratio scale, the measurements of the dependent variable should show a normal distribution in both groups or measurements compared, and the variances of the groups should show a homogeneous distribution. It tests whether the means from two related groups or measures differ significantly from each other.
